Dr Gundry's Lectin-Free Diet
Lectins are a substance that plants use to protect themselves from insects before their crop is ready for harvest, or in some cases to stop being eaten at all. These may paralyse insects but there is no obvious effect on humans unless observed long term, although an immediate effect does take place, it's not obvious that the reason is because of lectins in the food you're eating because they are in so many foods, so if you remove one food from your diet you still have many other sources, gluten is a well known lectin found in wheat, but there are many others and are found in the skin of tomatoes and every kind of pepper, which is why, according to Dr Gundry, that native Americans never ate any of these without peeling them first.
