5) Teflon is everywhere:
In 1945, DuPont, (renamed DowDuPont following its 2017 merger with Dow Chemical), began manufacturing Teflon, best known for its use in non-stick cookware, but also used in many other products, including waterproof clothing and furniture, grease paper and food packaging which you buy pizzas or baked foods in (for instance Gregg's) self-cleaning ovens, airplanes and cars (see more further down) https://www.nestandglow.com/life/teflon-dangers
Non-stick pans can either be Teflon or ceramic and 99% of non-stick pans are Teflon.
The chemical Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) was used in non-stick Teflon pans up until 2015 and has been linked to many diseases such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, liver tumours and reduced fertility. This chemical was found to build in peoples bodies so daily use was eventually seen as an unacceptable risk.Teflon has been linked to giving people short term flu-like symptoms and headaches, known as polymer fume fever. This is due to the gases released when heating the pans. Manufacturers have said this isn't possible due to the 375C temperatures the pans undergo when made, but many still report feeling unwell especially with new pans. These fumes are very dangerous to birds as they breathe rapidly.
Many people are still using non stick pans even after they become damaged and begin to flake off. You really don't want to be eating plastic in your food as that has been linked to many health problems.
The chemicals involved in nonstick pans are known as PFAs, shorthand for perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances. There are many different subclasses of these chemicals, but they all start with "PF"; the Centers for Disease Control factsheet includes details on perfluorosulfonates (PFOs) and perfluorocarboxylic acids like PFOA and PFNA.

One of the key ingredients in DuPont's Teflon was C8, a toxic, man-made chemical created by Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, better known as 3M, to make Scotchgard. The chemical, also known as PFOS or PFOA, is what gave Teflon its non-stick properties. Both 3M and DuPont were well aware of the health hazards associated with C8. But that didn't stop DuPont from dumping the toxic chemical into local waterways, where it made its way into public drinking water and subsequently sickened thousands of people, and ultimately killing many of them.
DuPont knew exposure to C8 could harm human health and cause birth defects. Both DuPont and 3M had been studying the chemical since the 1960s. One study on the chemical led by 3M, determined that the chemical could potentially cause birth defects in the eyes of rat fetuses.
Today, we know that exposure to C8 in drinking water is linked to six different diseases: kidney cancer, testicular cancer, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, preeclampsia and high cholesterol.
Evidence shows that DuPont knew for decades that exposure to C8 could cause long-term health effects in humans. DuPont started conducting cancer studies in 1988. The company's own studies showed that exposure to C8 killed rats, dogs and monkeys, by causing testicular cancer, liver disease and pancreatic disease, according to a new Netflix documentary titled, "The Devil We Know", C8 contamination is so widespread that, according to this article in the Intercept:
https://theintercept.com/2015/08/20/teflon-toxin-dupont-slipped-past-epa/
99 percent of Americans have the chemical in their blood. It's also been found in the blood of people from all parts of the world.
DuPont agreed to casually phase out C8 by 2015. But it still makes Teflon. DuPont replaced C8 with a new chemical called Gen-X, which is already turning up in waterways.
Animal studies conducted by DuPont found tumors in rats exposed to Gen-X, according to the film. The tumors are similar to those seen in rats exposed to C8.

We know Teflon for non stick pans, but you might be surprised at where else it's used
For frying pans, woks and saucepans - opt for stainless, cast iron or enamel. De Buyer is a good brand of brushed stainless, season it similarly to a wok before using it.
SolidTeknics is a good Australian brand. Both are non stick, especially with a good bit of coconut oil, oil the pans after cooking and then wipe clean to produce a home-made non stick coating.
Another option is ceramic coated, always choose a brand that's toxic free and bear in mind that using oil on a ceramic pan will lessen its life, (but it's non-stick so no need to use any oil), high quality brands like Le Chasseur or Le Creuset:
It may be expensive but you'll probably only have to buy them once in your lifetime (it'll become a family heirloom).
Dental Floss.
Microwave popcorn bags - so use a saucepan or popcorn maker instead.
Irons. The Sunbeam Aerosteam or the Tefal auto clean 400 are the only high quality ones without the Teflon coating that I could find.
Hair straighteners, curling wands etc. Read the small print on the box and make sure it's ceramic or stainless.
Baking gear, including most parchment/grease proof paper:
Opt for Stainless and do butter and flour dusting to naturally 'non stick' your muffin (possibly coconut oil could be used for vegans although I haven't tried it), Madeleine or cake tins and opt for a parchment paper that is greener such as 'If You Care' soy wax - for hot, or silicon - for cold coatings. Google ebay or etsy for stainless bakeware options and place an amazon order to wherever you're staying if traveling overseas so you can stock up on stainless bakeware without the postage fortune.
Carpets and sofas. Any kind of stain repellent, liquid repellent technology,) in a sports shoe shop for instance) Stay away from scotch guard spray, for leather shoes, beeswax is far better to use as a water repellent as it is natural:
Bees Wax Shoe Polish:
Some waterproof mascaras, check your brand.
Ironing board covers (not all. Check your brand/manufacturer)
Some light bulbs. Look for the words PTFEs or non stick to see whether your bulb is safe to buy or not, (especially if you have pet birds or chickens.)
Toasted Sandwich makers, waffle makers, rice cookers and many plug in slow cookers and woks. Slow cook in large cast iron or enamel pans and put the lid on and dish into a low heat 130 degrees oven. For rice learn the absorption method.
Teflon is also used for grease paper so avoid buying products with grease paper packaging like pizzas or baked foods in (for instance Greg's).
As for toasted sandwiches, place your sandwich/wrap onto unbleached 'If You Care' or other natural, parchment paper:
Then, place another sheet on top and press as normal in the sandwich press.
Waterproof clothes - raincoats. Use umbrellas where possible.
Outdoor deck waterproofing sealants. There are natural ones available so it's a matter of playing detective if you've got a renovation in the works.
In children's uniforms. It will have a label and seems to be restricted to boy's trousers and shorts, so find an equivalent, non teflon treated colour, or look for 100% cotton.
Carbon Monoxide,DuPont and Hemp
With the current situation of increasing petrol prices and petrol shortages, this next section becomes very relevant, especially because I show you how to solve the problem, so that ideally you'll never even have to use petrol, or at least you won't need as much or have to queue for it as often. You'll see what I mean further on.
Carbon Monoxide
https://www.hse.gov.uk/gas/domestic/co.htm
Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colourless, odourless, tasteless, poisonous gas produced by incomplete burning of carbon-based fuels, including gas, oil, wood and coal.
https://www.organicconsumers.org/blog/devil-we-know-how-dupont-poisoned-world-teflon
The following is taken from the above video
"CO, Carbon monoxide is the leading cause of death in this country from poisoning," said Dr J Dugan Mahoney, attentnding physician in the MGH's Emergency Ward (Michael Garron Hospital USA). "It accounts for more fatalities each year than all drug overdoses combined...
Gasolene is a poison spreading material, because it is distilled with benzene, hexene and xylene and toluene, these chemicals are all known carcinogenic materials...
Normal drinking alcohol, also known as ethanol, is the cleanest of all liquid fuels...
When your engine is through burning on gasolene, take it apart and see how much dirty carbon you find in the engine. We found that running a car 3500 miles, we couldn't even get a white glove dirty when we took our finger inside of the exhaust pipe.
All plants are storehouses of solar energy, and all plants can be fermented to produce ethanol fuel. Plants also produce the oxygen needed to combust fuel in a car, the emissions, carbon dioxide and watervare reabsorbed by plants. It is a clean and balanced cycle...
Even the 10% blend, where you only have 10% ethanol in the gasolene, lowers some emissions as much as 25 - 30%...
Ethanol blends also eliminate the need for leaded fuel...
Hemp was poised to become the new billion dollar crop as repoeted in 'Popular Mechanics' and 'Mechanical Engineering' magazines written in early 1938.
A factory in Illinois had begun producing fine bond paper from hemp fibre. Hemp, with its high cellulose content, could also now be made into 'more than 25,000 products ranging from dynamite to cellophane and all manner of plastics'
But in the mid thirties DuPont Chemicals patented processes to make nylon and plastics from oil and coal.
A resurgence of the hemp industry would seriously have threatened the emerging petro-chemical industry with their synthetic fibre nylon being invented in 1935.
Hearst was a big printer back during the 20s and 30s and he had vast interests in timber land for paper pulp, which could be used as result of a chemically intensive paper pulp process developed by DuPont and patented by DuPont. They made their fortunes with these chemical shipments for the paperpulp industry. Hemp represented a less chemically intensive way of manufacturing a higher grade paper. Consequently DuPont saw it as an economic competitor. William Randolf Hearst, the owner of the largest newspaper chain in the United States between the world wars, started publishing newspaper articles linking cannabis with violent crime. They renamed the plant marijuana, to disassociate it from the hemp medicines, the hemp robe and fabric that Americans had been using profitably for generations..."
Hearst and Harry Anslinger, the then director of the Bureau of Narcotics, managed to get marijuana made illegal in 1937, thus destroying the hemp industries. This timing in interesting, the alcohol prohibition had just ended and the people who had enforced it needed new jobs, this may well be why Anslinger pushed so hard to get cannabis banned."
So now we've set the context, I think you'll appreciate that, at free, the method found on the link below is not only cheaper than wasting money on petrol, but also at first glance is easy to do, just don't blow yourselves up OK, lol:
https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Ethanol-Fuel
A mechanic friend of mine, told me if you mix alcohol with unleaded petrol, it eats through the car engine so beware
Non-Petroleum Based, Bees Wax Candles
Bees wax candles are a much healthier alternative to the standard, petroleum based candles, which we are all so used to, for the simple fact that burning petroleum based ones, which come from carcinogenic oil, once again puts toxic fumes into the air, which we are obviously better off not breathing
6) Phthalates
(don't ask me how you'll pronounce that word! Especially after a drink or two! )
To avoid Phthalates (which cause damage to DNA in sperm and block the thyroid hormone from getting to where it's needed, causes tiredness and thinning hair amongst other things and act as solvents in perfumed items) avoid the following:
Hand sanitizers, hairsprays, lubricants, insect repellants, (and thousands of other household and personal care products) toothpastes with triclosan and mouth washes (fluoride and triclocarbon) Triclosan in hand sanitizers and toothpastes has been shown to produce bladder cancer and increases precancerous cells. Also, although there are different types types fluoride and we're also told that the fluoride in toothpastes is food grade quality, I imagine, since it is a waste product of aluminium mining, that it can be bought on the cheap in bulk, maybe on the sly eh? I know major conglomerates like to pay politicians off as it is cheaper than the tax they would have to pay, so I'm not sure I can trust them to resist reduced rate fluoride, plus it does say on most labels of toothpastes something like "call a doctor if you swallow more than a pea size amount" and I know that fluoride is used as rat poison and is an ingredient in most antidepressants, I won't go into how Hitler used it on the Jews, but it is clear it at least has psychological effects, so I choose to use a toothpaste without fluoride.
This is the toothpaste I currently use:

Distilled Water vs Tap Water
Tap water has been shown to contain traces of antidepressants, (like Prozac for instance), hairspray and the contraceptive pill amongst other things, which is why I recommended using a water distiller for drinking water.
A water distiller removes absolutely everything from the water and leaves you with nothing but pure drinking water. So you won't find any impurities in the water you're drinking.
Water distillers also remove any trace minerals too however, which is why I add about a teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan salt per litre, to replace the good minerals in mine.
The same can't be said for water filters, which only reduce a percentage of some impurities and of course are usually made of plastic.
Beware, because some water distillers also have plastic filters and such on them, which is undesirable to say the least, since plastic leaches toxic, carcinogenic chemicals into any food or drink it comes into contact with. And of course this is multiplied manifold the hotter the water is. Some also use rubber parts on them too, and while natural rubber is safe to drink from, you should avoid PVC-based models because they can release harmful toxins called toxic plasticizers. Then there's also the fact that the rubber can also severely alter the taste of the water, and not in a good way neither, believe me, I'm talking from experience here and had to get a refund for that reasons, for a water distiller I previously bought.
This is why I've listed the cheapest water distillers below that I could find which are free of plastic.
